Year of the Flood

Tonight I finished The Year of the Flood the, sort of, follow up to Oryx and Crake from Margaret Atwood. It's a fantastically creative and brilliant post apocalyptic read. She created a crazy world in the future that somewhat resembles a scary version of what we've got.

There's even merch! Secret Burgers, sounds a little familiar.

Angela's Ashes

At first I did not love this book. It was kind of slow and a little depressing. But then I reminded myself that it was a memoir, and then the characters seemed really endearing and relatable. Just regular folk trying to live their lives in less than desirable conditions with a life full of unfortunate events. In the end I could not put it down.

Frank McCourt is a fantastic real life person with an amazing life story written from the naive perspective of his younger self. If you're in the mood for a kind of real life Huck Finn I recommend you check it out.
